As a police officer I worked both for the Cobb County police department and also for the City of Roswell police department. Starting my career I focused on DUI enforcement. As a Cobb county police officer and also as a Roswell police officer I’ve had a lot of courses that have helped me. Included in those is Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, which is the practitioner course. This is basically the 24 hour course that police officers need to attend to be able to detect drunk drivers and also to form the basis for a DUI case. In addition to that I’ve had periodic DUI updates. I’ve also become a DUI instructor.

That’s important because being a DUI instructor gave me the opportunity to teach law enforcement officers how to actually make a DUI case. That’s important because when you keep someone, you have to have a firm grasp on all of the information and as a teacher I was be able to pick apart those beginning DUI officer’s cases to show them how they could improve. Using that information I’m able to pick apart these other police officer’s cases in order to find errors, omissions, and things they could have done better. Those are typically the things that we use and expand on in a DUI case.
