North Georgia Judge Faces DUI Charge

Richard Simms | June 12, 2007 - 1:50PM

A North Georgia Judge faces a DUI charge. Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. police stopped Judge Donny Peppers early Saturday morning and charged him with driving while intoxicated. The Judge presides in Walker County and assists in Catoosa County.

In a police report, it says Peppers was all over the roadway, and the officer stopped him at the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Page Road.

When Lieutenant John McGrath approached the car, he says Peppers appeared highly intoxicated and had a strong odor of alcohol.

In the incident report, the officer says the judge denied having anything to drink, but when he was booked at the Catoosa County jail, his blood alcohol level registered point-1-6-9..

That's more than two times the amount allowed by Georgia law..
